breathwork
come home to yourself
Your breath is always with you. Beneath the noise. Beneath the stories. Beneath the constant thinking, doing, planning and pushing... there is breath. Conscious Breathwork is an invitation to slow down, drop out of the thinking mind, reconnect with the wisdom of the body, and create space to simply be with what is. At Tierra Azul Designs, breath is one of the pathways we use to return to presence, connection and aliveness.
Breathe. Feel. Listen. Remember.
what is conscious breathwork?
The style of Conscious Breathwork I facilitate is rooted in the Rebirthing lineage and the work I studied with my teacher and mentor, Gwen Payne of Inspired Sedona, Arizona.
It uses an intentional, conscious and connected circular breathing pattern—typically practiced lying comfortably on the back—in which the inhale flows into the exhale and the exhale flows back into the inhale without the usual pauses between breaths. Gwen describes the practice she teaches as most closely associated with Rebirthing Breathwork, while also emphasizing surrender, allowing and listening rather than forcing an experience. Supported by music and guided facilitation, the practice becomes a kind of active meditation—an opportunity to turn our attention away from the constant activity of the mind and toward our internal experience. There is nothing you need to accomplish. Nothing you need to perform. And no particular experience you're supposed to have.
The invitation is simply to breathe, become curious, and listen.
Why Breath?
So much of modern life happens from the neck up. We analyze. Plan. Problem-solve. Scroll. Push. Hold. And sometimes we become so accustomed to moving through life this way that we lose connection with what we're actually experiencing underneath it all. Breathwork offers another doorway: The body. Through intentional breathing and somatic awareness, we create space to notice sensation, emotion, tension and whatever else may be present without immediately needing to explain or change it. For some people, a session feels deeply restful. For others, emotional. Energizing. Clarifying. Quiet. Unexpected. Every experience is different. The goal isn't to manufacture a breakthrough. It's to create conditions where you can become more present with yourself. Join me for a journey toward greater authenticity, vitality, purpose and connection.
my journey to and through Breathwork
I didn't discover breathwork because I was looking for another certification.
I discovered it because I needed it.
During a period of significant transition in my own life, I had spent years trying to understand myself through my mind.
Breathwork introduced me to another way.
Instead of always trying to think my way through life, I began learning to slow down enough to feel it.
That first experience eventually led me to study Conscious Breathwork with Gwen Payne, founder of Inspired Sedona, and later to work alongside Gwen for three years while facilitating experiences through Sedona Soul Adventures in Arizona.
During those years, I had the privilege of supporting people arriving with all kinds of stories—grief, major transitions, relationship changes, health challenges, the aftermath of traumatic experiences, stress, uncertainty, and sometimes simply the desire to know themselves more deeply.
What Does a Tierra Azul Breathwork Experience Look Like?
Each experience is intentionally held and may include gentle movement, grounding, intention setting, conscious connected breathing, music, rest, reflection and integration.
We begin by arriving.
Noticing the body.
Noticing the breath.
Noticing what you're carrying into the space.
From there, I'll introduce the breathing practice and help you find a version appropriate for your body and experience.
During the active breathwork portion, you'll typically lie comfortably on a mat while I guide the journey through breath, music and verbal facilitation.
And afterward?
We don't rush out the door.
There is time to rest.
Integrate.
Journal or reflect.
And allow whatever arose during the experience to settle.
That integration matters.
who is breathwork for?
You don't need to consider yourself spiritual.
You don't need to be good at meditation.
You don't need previous breathwork experience.
And you certainly don't need to have your life falling apart.
You might simply be longing for an opportunity to slow down and reconnect.
Tierra Azul Breathwork experiences are for people curious about exploring greater:
Presence • Embodiment • Self-awareness • Connection • Reflection • Aliveness
Breathwork can also be a meaningful complementary practice during seasons of transition or stress, but it is not psychotherapy, medical treatment or a substitute for professional mental-health or medical care.
come as you are
You don't need to arrive with an answer.
You don't need to know what you're looking for.
You don't even need to know why you're curious.
Sometimes curiosity is enough.
Come exactly as you are.
Bring your body.
Bring your story.
Bring whatever this particular chapter of life contains.
We'll begin with the breath.
